She was born again at Firth, Idaho, and later traveled by flat bed truck to San Francisco, California, to attend Glad Tidings Bible Institute. Ida completed the two years of study and graduated in 1935. Her motto in her graduation yearbook was "To Do His will" which she strived to do throughout her life. After completing her studies she traveled with three other new graduates, Kay, Mary and Lauretta. This group, known as "The Light Bearer's Quartet" traveled and evangelized across the country for 11 years. Ida and Kay traveled for two additional years ministering. Then each one married and branched out into other ministries. On June 4, 1949, Ida married Otho Isham Collins. Together they did mission work for the homeless and alcoholics in California until retirement. after retirement they moved to Arizona and assisted other pastors with ministry for the Puma and Papago Indians for 18 years. After re-retirement they moved to Maranatha Village at Springfield. Ida continued to minister by playing the piano several times a week for services at Maranatha Manor until the last two months. Preceding Ida in death were her husband, Otho; her parents, Charles and Kristeen Sundquist; seven brothers, Carl, Albert, Eric, Aaron, Emil, Victor and Ernest and one sister, Ellen. Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Vansant-Mills Chapel on Saturday, February 26.
