In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Stan Blankenship; one brother: Sherman Coleman; half-brother: Acie Prater; and two sisters: Marie Wolford & Judy Ferrell.
Geraldine was a homemaker. She loved to cook, quilt, & sew, and she kept a spotless household when she was in good health. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Before she took ill, Geraldine attended The Lord's House at Phelps, KY.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years: Emzy Blankenship of Freeburn, KY. They were married August 1, 1958. She is also survived by two sons: Chris Blankenship & Greg Blankenship of Freeburn, KY; four brothers: Roy Coleman of Columbus, OH, J.C. Coleman of Logan, WV, Larry Coleman of Columbus, OH, Emzie Colman of Freeburn, KY; two sisters: Onita Hall of Frankfort, KY, Patricia Coleman of Pikeville, KY seven grandchildren: David Blankenship of Chattanooga, TN, Johnny Dotson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Sarah Blankenship of Lexington, KY, Rachael Blankenship of Lexington, KY, Amanda Dotson of Paris, KY, Tate Blankenship of Pikeville, KY, Haley Blankenship of Jeffersonville, IN; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at The Lord’s House, Phelps, KY with Reverends: Mitch Bowling & Chris Casey officiating. Burial will follow in the Abe’s Branch Community Cemetery at Phelps.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday & Wednesday at The Lord's House with special services Wednesday at 7:00 P.M.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
