Marcie Cole Call
1961 ~ 2015
Marcie Cole Call died on August 13, 2015 just as she had lived, surrounded by family, friends, music and laughter that she loved. An intense but quick battle with cancer took our wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt much too soon.
The curtain went up on March 26, 1961 in Salt Lake City, UT when Marcie was born to Sharolyn Butters and Lyle Nelson Cole. As the oldest she was later joined by 4 siblings and grew up in Bountiful, UT. She attended Bountiful High School and Weber State College with plans for a career of some sort when she met and fell in love with her Viking, Gary William Call. Their first months together were spent costuming shows at Bountiful High. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1981. This spoiler altered her course and she became a wonderful homemaker and mother.
Blessed with the privilege of being a stay at home mom, she worked at the family owned Kaysville Theatre. Try as she might she couldn't convince herself to go back to school and launch a career in fashion or theatre, the answer to her prayers was always, 'Not yet". Not to be deterred she performed with her mother and sisters, did community theatre, and lovingly designed and costumed dozens of shows at Bountiful High.
Marcie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father and all of her Brothers and Sisters here on earth. She served faithfully in the Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary organizations. Just last week she told us how much she loved being a Camp Director and wished to go just one more time. She made and kept the covenants that were asked of her by the Lord.
Marcie's final curtain call brings a standing ovation! Her husband Gary, her children Jordan and Laurie, Megan, Nelson, Hayden and grandsons Ryan, Carson and Drew, survive her. She will be missed by her father Lyle, mother-in-law Mary Call, siblings Jeff and Lisa Call, Melinda and Wayne Welch, Adam and Christine Cole, Elizabeth Cole and Allison Dennison, Angela and Guy Brown, 24 nieces and nephews and a large loving extended family. Her beautiful mother, father-in-law, grandmothers and grandfathers greeted her upon her arrival in Heaven.
Our wonderful family and friends have been by our side, the angels of the 14th ward have unlimited compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Samuelson, Bruce, Mandy, Michelle and David at Utah Cancer Specialists, Anya, Andrea, Tracy and Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, and Michelle, Sara and the team at Life Care Center in Bountiful. You each made our journey just a little easier.
A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers at 295 Main St. in Bountiful from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 18. A viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 will precede Funeral Services will be held at the Bountiful 14th Ward, 1500 South 600 East in Bountiful at 11:00 AM, August 19. Burial in the Lakeview Cemetery.
