Wealthy Geralee "Jerry" Dow Brough Bingham, age 86, of Vernal, passed away March 21, 2012 from complications of a fall.
Wealthy Gerallee Cloward was born on Aug. 4, 1925, in Duchesne to Mary Amelia Roberts and Edward Cloward. She fought her way into this world with determination and spunk and she left us in the very same manner.
Jerry married Lloyd Dwight Dow on April 14, 1941, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple Aug. 3, 1985. Lloyd died Sept. 6, 1966. Jerry married Grant Brough on July 8, 1968, they later divorced. She married Ercil Bingham on Nov. 11, 1987; Ercil died Aug. 18, 2000.
She had a great love for oil painting, reading, writing poetry, camping, being in the mountains, traveling and a passion for dancing. Her yard, especially flowers, and her garden gave Jerry tremendous joy, especially in the later years. Jerry taught Head Start in the Roosevelt area and later wrote the column "Welcome to My World" for the Vernal Express. She participated in the grandparent program at Naples Elementary and was loved by the children and teachers. You could always tell when she was up to mischief by the way her eyes sparkled and snapped; and above all, this was true when she was telling a tall tale, which she said was a "true story with a little flair added for color."
Jerry was very active and served in a variety of positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While living in Bonanza with her first husband, she participated in a Branch of the church being organized in that community.
Jerry is survived by four children, Christy Leavitt, Vernal; Renae (Brent) Anderson, Ephraim; Sam (Maxine) Brough, Talmage; Becky Toone, Roosevelt; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Snarr Dow. Jerry's posterity also includes 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Mark Cloward, Woods Cross, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, five sisters, one brother, a step-brother, three husbands, her son, Lloyd Dean Dow, a grandchild, and three sons-in-law.
Jerry's legacy, to all who knew her, was her deep love of children and a life lived with flamboyance.
Funeral services held March 24 at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Burial in the Vernal Memorial Park.
