On March 23, 2016, George E. Clifton answered the Lord’s call. He was born on November 15, 1956, the son of the late Gracie and Nehemiah Clifton, in Franklin, North Carolina. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Clifton was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Clifton. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Theresa Clifton; his daughter, LeMeca Clifton; his sons, Tyshawn Conner (Dana) and Richard Ives; his sister, Shirley Clifton Thomas; Annie “Momma Lue” Montague (who raised him); his four grandchildren, Bataya Conner, Amare Conner, Yasje Ives and Miles Ives; his nine aunts; his four uncles; his four nephews; his seven great-nieces; his great-nephew; other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service celebrating the life he lived will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, in Whiting’s Chapel. Interment will follow in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milner’s Road, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. Family and friends will assemble at 26 Pacific Drive, Hampton, Virginia by 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Mr. Clifton may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in Whiting’s Funeral Home.
