Cleve Clark, 75, of Athens passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009.

A native of Albany, GA, Mr. Clark was the son of the late Philip James and Wilma Cleveland Clark. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1956, where he played football for Coach Wally Butts. Cleve's love of football and Wally Butts made him very proud to be known as one of "Wally's Boys".

From 1956-1968, Cleve coached football, baseball, and basketball at Northside High School in Atlanta. He was inducted into the Albany Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. He was a retired general manager of General Wholesale Company in Athens, GA.

Survivors include daughter, Terri Clark of Athens, GA, sons, Wesley Clark and wife, Cathy of Covington, GA and Todd Clark and wife, Colleen of Atlanta, GA, brothers, Philip Clark of Sasser, GA, Jerry Clark of Albany, GA, and Jackie Clark of Hazelhurst, GA, and his very much loved grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3PM Saturday, June 20th in the Chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Eulogy given by Loran Smith. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM Monday, June 22nd at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors in Albany, GA with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Athens YMCA, 915 Hawthorne Ave, Athens, GA 30606 or the UGA Letterman's Club, 1070 Lake Wellbrook Dr., Athens, GA 30606.
