Patricia Ann Friend
Patricia Ann Friend, 73, peacefully crossed over March 13, 2012.
"Mom", feisty as ever, reached her mountain top. She turned with a wave and a smile, blew us a kiss and embraced the other side. Pat was born on November 26, 1938 in Portland, OR and was quickly adopted by Alfred and Margaret Clemmens.
She attended Washington High School in Portland and then Portland State University. She was an accomplished pianist, swimmer, lifeguard and Job's Daughters past honored Queen.
Pat married Gary Friend in 1960 and moved to Everett, WA where she worked for Pacific Trailer Parts & Service, Carter Drug, Flowers by Adrian in addition to being a Soccer Referee and running estate sales for 25 years. Most recently she worked for the Everett Performing Arts Theater/Village Theatre in Everett as the House Manager, greeting a multitude of patrons for nearly two decades -- she often joked that she "came with the building!" All who knew her, including staff, ushers, actors and backstage crew, admired Pat's professionalism. Her friendships were legendary and her thoughtfulness touched many. Pat assured us that she'll be standing at the doorway waiting to greet all her family and friends when they cross over.
She touched many lives in her years of working with the Diocese of Olympia youth program and as the youth leader at Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett. Pat volunteered at the YMCA (Disabled Swimmers), Bathhouse Theatre, Everett Symphony, Sons of Norway Language Camp, and St Priscilla's Guild. Pat was also a member of the Everett Jaycees, Elks, Normanna Lodge and Snohomish Antique Club.
Patricia leaves behind her daughter, Tawnya Jackson (Shawn); son, Matthew Friend; grandchildren, Chris Friend, Andrew Friend, Nick Lygren, Anthony DeJoria, Brittney Friend, Kyle Jackson and Claire Jackson.
We would like to thank Everett Providence Cancer Center, Hospice and all her friends who helped her "Cross Over".
Donations may be given to the Village Theatre-Kids Stage or Trinity Episcopal Church – Chris Barton Fund.
A Celebration of Pat's life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt, Everett WA, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.
