Funeral services for Emogene Clements Armistead, 87, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Carl Williams officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Pallbearers will be Mike Lawler, William Allen, Ken Sherwood, John Harris and James Milam.

Armistead was born in Tuscaloosa County to the late James L. and Thelma Kuykendall Clements on Oct. 17, 1924. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Crews Armistead and her brother J.L. Clements, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Sally A. Stanley, her sons Gene Armistead, Bruce Armistead, Starkey Armistead, and her sisters Martha Springer and Wymbreth Gresham. She has six granddaughters and six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Demopolis Public Library.
