A graveside funeral for Edna Clayton Bailey, 70, of Wister Court, Roanke Rapids, who died Thursday, April 17, 2008, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church cemetery, in Roxboro, by Bishop Franklin L. Jones Jr.
Mrs. Bailey was a native of Durham County, the daughter of the late Baxter Earl and Mary Jewell Burch Clayton.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Thornton and husband, Wade, of Henrico; two sons, Earl W. Bailey Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Cary and Bryan Bailey and wife, Mindy, of Everette, Mass; a sister, Ida Rae Wrenn of Roxboro; and five grandchildren, E'owyn Bailey, Wade Thornton, Jessica Thornton, Marcus Thornton and Amanda Thornton.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.
