Mrs. F.M. Brown Dies At The Age of 72
Sylvester Jane, daughter of John and Lydia Claxton was born in Southern Illinois, Jan. 17, 1857; died at home of her son in law, Charles Feltmeyer Jr. in White Walnut Dist. Feb. 6, 1929, at the age of 72 years and 19 days.
On August 22, 1875 she was united in marriage to Francis Marion Brown and to this union were born six children; Chas, Willie, Delia, Eva, Dora and Mollie. The four first mentioned with the husband and father preceded the mother in death.
Most of her life was spent on the farm in the community where she died and since the death of her husband seven years ago she has made her home with her daughter Mrs. Charles Feltmeyer Jr.
On April 15, 1922 she was converted and joined the Cross Baptist Church during the Evangelical meeting held by Eld. J.B. Hall and remained true to Christ til death.
She leaves to mourn her two daughters Mrs. Dora Sisney of Bloomfield, Mo., and Mrs. Mollie Feltmeyer of Pinckneyville and six great grandchildren.
One sister Mrs. Elizabeth Hulse of Dallas, Texas and one half brother, Charles Meyer of Independence, Mo., besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral serivices were conducted at the home in White Walnut district by Rev. E.H. Zipprodt and burial was in Campbell cemetery.
