ST. ANTHONY - Birdena Ruth Clark, 69, of St. Anthony, died April 6, 2000, of a sudden heart attack.


She was born April 16, 1930, at Lewiston, Idaho, to Vollie Leroy Wyman and Eva Elizabeth Murphy Wyman. She grew up in the Cudledsac and Burley, Idaho, areas and graduated from high school in 1948 at Burley. In her younger years, her family and schoolmates called her "Mickie" and she was known by her stepfather's surname, Burnham.


In 1948 she married Earl Bell at Burley. She worked for Thirftway Drug for approximately 10 years. She and her husband divorced in 1967. She married Gordon Buttars in 1969, and they lived on a farm that her husband owned near Burley. He died in 1984. She then worked at the hospital as a dietitian in the food department.

She did volunteer work at the hospital and enjoyed bowling. She was a life member of the Rebekah' s Ruth Lodge #107 and was a past noble grand in 1957.

In November 1997, she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and on December 18, 1997, she married Edland Clark in Burley. They made their home in St. Anthony, where they have since resided.


Survivors include her husband, "Eddie" Clark of St. Anthony; three sons, Ron Bell of Boise, Wes (Chris) Bell of Billings, Montana, and Kevin Bell of Lewiston; stepchildren, Gordon (Bonnie) Buttars Jr. of Rexburg, Connie Cochnour of Heyburn, Idaho, and Cindee Weirich of Rupert; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and a son, Craig.


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center with Bishop Evan Tibbitts officiating. Friends may visit at the church Monday from 1 p.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery. Additional memorial services will be conducted Tuesday at 1p.m. at the Burley 2nd LDS Ward with Bishop Tim Harris officiating.
