From the St. Paul (Nebraska) Republican, July 6, 1905, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney:

A Cyclone Victim -

Mrs. Elton Clark, daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Clark and niece of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Sparks, is reported to have been killed in the cyclone at Phillipsburg, Kas., on Tuesday of last week.

The only news thus far received is a brief letter from her husband to his parents. From this it is learned that he had left her with relatives at Phillipsburg while he went about 50 miles south to work in the harvest fields. Mr. Clark was on his way to the scene of the tragedy when he wrote. No name similar to hers was in the published list of killed, but an unknown woman was mentioned, and as Mrs. Clark was a comparative stranger in the community, it was probably her body that could not be identified.

She was married to Elton Clark about five years ago and lived here until last February, when she left with her husband for Kansas. There were no children. Jasper Sparks, an uncle of the unfortunate woman, has gone to Phillipsburg.
