Glastonbury, Conn. - BONNIE LAVERN CLARK, 70, of Glastonbury and formerly of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at her home. Born Dec. 16, 1931, in New Market, Va., she was the daughter of the late Claude L. Ritter Sr. and Hallie R. Ritter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard A. Clark Jr., in 1981.
She was a 1946 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and a 1948 graduate of Columbia Business College. She was employed by Brethren Mutual Insurance Co. as executive secretary to the president, retiring in 1994 after 40 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, where she served on the music committee and as secretary of the church council. She was a volunteer at the gift shop in the Washington County Hospital as a member of the Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorcas K. Slick of Keedysville; one son, Bernard A. Clark III of Glastonbury; four grandsons; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Claude L. Ritter Jr.
Services were held at Christ Lutheran Church; burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery; arrangements were handled by the Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
