Lester Charles Clark, age 91 years, of Melbourne, Arkansas and summer resident of Lake Township was called home on Thursday, November 14, 2013.
He was born on February 21, 1922 in Detroit to the late William and Irena (Witherspoon) Clark.
Lester was united in marriage to Maxine Mary Andrea Eisinger on August 22, 1942. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1968. He married Margaret Tageson in 1969 and she preceded him in death. In 1982 he married Mabel Day who also preceded him in death. On December 12, 2000 he was united in marriage to Donna Marie LaRochelle.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the army in the European Theater. When he returned from the service, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company for a time and then went on to be self-employed as a carpenter and was in demand along the shoreline. He enjoyed spending the winters in Florida before moving to Melbourne, Arkansas. Les enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest!
Lester is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Charlotte Morley of Elkton, Irene Heckroth of Bad Axe, Deborah Rentschler of Leslie and John (Cathy) Clark of Kinde; one step-daughter, Robyn (Jon) Reardon of Vero Beach, FL; 13 grandchildren, Tina Morley Hance of MO, Tamala (Robert) Volmering and James Morley of MI, Michael (Janine) Schmitt, of MD, Scott (Tracy) Schmitt of NC, Josh (Elaine) Clark of UT, Trisha (Jeremy) Cooke of MI, Niki Burch of MI, Jolene (Matthew) Eichler of TN, David and Chad Hamlin of MI, Brandi (Donald) Bucholz of NC, and Travis (Jenel) Clark of MI; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; 3 step-grandchildren, Brandon (Valerie) Bursick of MI, Zachary (Tiffany) Bursick of MI and Taylor Swan of VT; 4 step great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Clark; son in-law, Leland Morley ; daughter in-law, Toni Clark; brothers, Arthur, Mel, Bruce, Eldon and infant Merlin Clark; sisters, Beulah and Doris Hass, Wilma Clark and Sharon Eisinger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at MacAlpine Funeral Home, Bad Axe with Pastor Larry K. Loree, Sr. officiating. Burial will take place at Colfax Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home until time of service.
Memorials may be offered to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kinde.
