1946 - 2013 CHESHIRE Stephen A. Clairmont, 67, of 54 Pleasantview Drive, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at the North Adams Commons Care Center, following a long struggle with his illness.

Born in Adams on Feb. 23, 1946, and a lifelong resident of Cheshire, he was the son of Margaret Whitmore Clairmont and the late Alfred Clairmont. He attended schools in Cheshire, later completing his GED high school requirements.

Steve (or SteveO or Stosh) worked on the family farms on Rt 116 in Cheshire from the time he was a small boy up until he was physically unable to continue. During the 1970's and 80's, he also was employed with the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams in various roles including warehouse operator, truck driver, welder, and machine operator.

Steve was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He enjoyed sports, music, bowling, strolling through the fields around his home, driving tractor on the farms, and especially enjoyed his two nephews, whom he adored, and to whom he leaves all his worldly possessions.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret; one brother, Bernard Clairmont and his wife, Lynn, all of Cheshire, and his two nephews, Justin Clairmont, and Joshua Stephen Clairmont.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Stephen A. Clairmont will take place Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, with the Rev David Raymond, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams where Steve will be placed next to his father.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 until the time of the service. Steve's Family invites all his friends to a short get-together following burial.
