Linda Mercier married John Ignatius Cissell. Her parents were Kenneth Deacon and Ruth Keirstead Mercier. Her obituary in the Paducah Sun on Sep 30, 2000, states that she was a native of Luell, Massachusetts and died at Hospice Atlanta, which puts into question both her place of birth and death (possibly Massachusetts and Georgia instead of Pennsylvania and Kentucy). She had lived in Paducah and was buried in St. Jerome Catholic Church Cemetery in Fancy Farm. As an English teacher she taught in Newton, Pennsylvania for more than seven years and in Dekalb County, Georgia for more than 20 years. She was a member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church in Georgia. She left behind a step daughter, Debra Jan Jones of Paducah; three step grandchildren, Brian Morrow and Russell B. Jones, both of Paducah, and Candace L. Jones of Evansville, Indiana, one step great granddaughter and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
