Victor A. "Vic" Cieslak, 82, of Richland Township, Gibsonia, died Monday evening at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless.
Born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 23, 1925, he was the son of the late Ignatius and Casmira Rozanski Cieslak.
A railroader, Vic was a brakeman and yard conductor for the B&O Railroad and then CSX Corp. at the Butler yards.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars, where he belonged to the Men's Club and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He also belonged to the Bonsai Society and the Retired Railroaders' Club.
Surviving are his wife, Lorraine C. Carlin Cieslak, who he married Jan. 19, 1952; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary J.) Watach of Ambridge and Mrs. Robert (Kathleen M.) Ochsenreiter of Shaler Township; six sons, Edward T. Cieslak (Irene) of Tucson, Ariz., David G. Cieslak (Linda) of St. Michael, Minn., Kenneth V. Cieslak (Cathy) of Ruther Glen, Va., Gregory P. Cieslak of Gibsonia, Jeffrey A. Cieslak (Chris) of Ben Avon and Brian K. Cieslak (Wendy) of Shaler Township; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
