Esther Norton was born to Phineas Manwarren Norton and Sara Kelley Norton, in Jonesboro, Maine. Esther was the second child born to Sara and Phineas. Sara died 4 years after Esther's birth. Her Dad remarried to Frances Ella Beal. Esther and John were married sometime in 1830. Together they had 10 children, Mary Ann, John, Abraham Norton, Lenety Norton, Rebecca Sawyer, Nathaniel, Elizabeth Sawyer, Charles W, Emma C, and Isabella N Church.
