Funeral services for Lucille Chumley, age 96, of Centerville, will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will follow in the Norwood Cemetery in Hearne. Clayton Hudson will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Lucille Chumley was born on January 1, 1917 in Milam County, Texas to Edward Freeman & Effie (Wilkinson) Cannon. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bird watching and gardening. Mrs. Chumley had lived in Centerville for the past thirteen years, coming from Channelview, Texas and was a Methodist by faith. She passed away on September 2, 2013 in Centerville, Texas. Mrs. Chumley was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Foy Guy Chumley; four sisters, Eunice, Pearl, Willie May & Corniliea and a brother, Ernest. Surviving family members include sons & daughter-in-law, Guy Edward Chumley of Centerville and Thomas & Pauline Chumley of Centerville; daughters, La Doris Landrum of Georgetown and Marcille Kinnison of Prospect, KY and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
