Earlene H. Chronister, 78, Independence, Mo., died April 10, 2010, at Season's Care Center in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born April 27, 1931, in Rolla, Mo., to Charles Earl and Lela Loury Heflin. She graduated from Rolla High School in 1949 and the International Bible School in San Antonio, Texas, in 1955.

She was united in marriage to Terry L. Chronister on May 15, 1988. Mrs. Chronister worked as a telephone operator for United Telephone Company and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Kansas City, Mo. She was also a receptionist for Sherwin Williams Paint Company in Kansas City.

She was an ordained minister through the Evangelistic Center Church in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Pittman Road Church of God in Kansas City, Mo. She always enjoyed singing, especially hymns; playing the organ and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Eric Heflin.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Terry L. Chronister; sisters, Shirley Jennings, and Phyllis June Brewer, all of Independence.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Pittman Road Church of God, 4700 Pittman Road, Kansas City, Mo., with a visitation to be held prior to the service at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon at the Paola Cemetery.
