Don was born on Oct. 12, 1932 in Crittenden Township, a son of Fredrick and Myrtle Fitzsimmons Christian. He married LaVerne Baker on July 30, 1960 in Urbana. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Dale (Joan) Christian; two brothers, Jerry (Dixie) Christian and James (Carol) Christian; two sisters, Rita (Marshall) Skinner and Carol (Jack) Hatchel and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Don served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a sheet metal worker for many years working for Petry Brothers and Advanced Sheetmetal.
He was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Rantoul and the American Legion Post in Pesotum.
