She married Bennett G. Swenning and they had three children. They were later divorced.

Delores Elaine Almendinger, 74, of Tenstrike, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at her home in Tenstrike.
Funeral services were at Faith Lutheran Church in Blackduck. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck.
She was born Feb. 23, 1936, to Chris and Josephine (Anderson) Christenson at home in Northome. She grew up and attended school there. She married Bennett G. Swenning, and they had three children. They were a later divorced. She worked at home baking and decorating cakes for Northome and the surrounding communities while raising her family. She was the clerk for Ardenhurst Township and also worked at Benders Resort by Island Lake. She completed her GED and graduated from Northome High School. In 1976, she married Albert Almendinger Jr., and they lived in Hagali Township until her death. She worked for the State of Minnesota Division of Forestry in Blackduck for 19 years and the Division of Trails and Waterways at the regional office in Bemidji for one year until retiring. She received awards from the DNR Forestry for eight years of service, an appreciation award for outstanding performance in the whole-timber sale program and for work on the State Wide Timber Sale Computer Program. She received the Morale Building Award from Trails and Waterways. During that time, she also had a greenhouse and raised flower and vegetable plants for sale. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Blackduck and served on committees for most years of TAALC. She was the church historian and did some volunteer computer work for the church also.
She enjoyed companionship and took pride in the church family and helping when possible. She enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, sewing, knitting, her computer, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Bennett (Joy) Swenning of Prattville, Ala., Linda (Richard) Dreher of Mizpah, Minn., and Roger Swenning of Louisa, Ky.; brother, Marvin A. Christenson of Northome; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Helen White; and a grandson.
