Elaine Christensen, 89, of Waconia, Minn., passed away peacefully on May 30, 2010.
Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Eric Christensen, former visitation pastor at First Lutheran Church. They lived in Fremont from 1977 until 2001. Elaine was widowed in 1988. Eric and Elaine formed many close ties with their church family, their neighbors and others encountered through numerous volunteer activities. At age 80, Elaine moved to Plymouth, Minn., to be closer to her daughter, Barbara. She remained very active in volunteer organizations and her church, until her failing health precluded her participation.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Brooks, Carol Christensen and Jane Moniz; sons-in-law, Narvel Brooks and Tyler Moniz; grandchildren, Erica Brooks and Narvel Brooks Jr.; sister, Ione Guyer; niece, Kristen Jones (Dave); and nephews, Hal Guyer (Sandy) and Randall Guyer.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Interment will take place in Blair at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Habitat for Humanity or the Eric Christensen Scholarship Fund at Dana College.
