Clarence J. Christensen, 79, of Herman, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services were Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home Chapel, whose staff was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Clarence Christensen was born Feb. 5, 1919, at Herman to Morris and Hattie (Petersen) Christensen. He attended the Broderson School in Herman.

On April 17, 1949, he married Leora Epperson in Herman. Mr. Christensen farmed northwest of Herman for nearly 50 years. Mrs. Christensen died in November of 1997.

In 1998, Mr. Christensen was given a special award for having the nicest garden in Herman.

He was survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Nels and Susan Christensen of Blair; two grandchildren, Stacy and Candida and one great-grandchild, Deven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leora; one sister, Hazel Davis and two brothers, Dean and Glenn Christensen.
