Anna Elizabeth, daughter of Christian and Marie Christenen, was born July16, 1876 in Jackson township, Shelby county, Iowa and died September 10, 1953 at the Guthrie County hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa at the age of 77 years, after an illness of three weeks.
On February 11, 1909 Anna was united in marriage to Chris A.J. Bock and to this union three children were born, a daughter and two sons. The two sons preceded their mother in death.
Mr and Mrs Bock moved to a farm north of Fiscus and later moved to a farm near Kirkman, then to Harlan where Mr Bock worked for the County until his death, March 19, 1947.
After Mr Bock's passing Mrs Bock went to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs Ted Gearhart of Panora, Iowa where she was well cared for until her death.
Besides her daughter, Christena, Mrs Bock is survived by two sisters, Mrs Hans Sorensen, Mrs Henry L. Larson of Harlan, two brothers, Chris of Harlan and Matt of Audubon. Three brothers, Nels, Nels A., and Johanas, one sister, Martie Nelsen preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, September 14 at 2 o'clock at the Pauley Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyle Paulsen in charge. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery.
