In 1906 he left Denmark for Hardy, Nebraska, where he worked for several farmers until he began farming for himself in 1909.
July 27, 1912, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Jacobsen at a Lutheran Church near Hardy. To this union three children, Marie and twins, Hans and Madeline, were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; a sister, all of Denmark, and a daughter, Madeline Meyer in 1956.
He leaves his widow, Anna; a daughter, Marie and her husband, James Bolinger; a son, Hans and his wife, Lillian; eight grandchildren and their spouses; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of relatives in Denmark and friends here.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 1975, at the Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Kenyon officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery of Superior, Nebraska. Arrangements were by the Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior.
