JACKSONVILLE — Marvin C "Joe" Choate, 76, died Sunday, July 25, 1999 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh. Funeral 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at First Baptist Church on Anne St. with Rev. Dr. Mike Turner officiating. Burial following service at Onslow Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. Surviving: wife, Vera Jones Choate; sons and daughters-in-law. Ronald and Jane Choate, Michael and Heather Choate, all of Jacksonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Michael Gaines, Jan and Steve Banks, all of Wilmington; sister, Irene C. Williams of Normandy, TN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: First Baptist Church Building Fund, 501 Anne St., Jacksonville, NC 28540 or Boys and Girls Home, P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450.
