Carroll Kenneth Childers was born 7 December 1926, in Huntington WV, a son of Tyler Weston Childers and Emmasetta (Emma) Sullivan Childers Beckett. He was a retired carman foreman for CSX Corp, Huntington.
Carroll was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the South Side United Methodist Church. He was past president of American Railway and Airline Supervisory Association, past master of Cabell Lodge 152 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Royal Arch Mason Chapter 6, member of the Huntington Commandery 9, member of Knights Templar, member of Huntington Chapter 8 of O.E.S., and member of Beni Kedem Shrine Temple of Charleston. He also served the Grand Lodge of West Virginia District as a deputy grand master in 1990-91 and was a member of the Faithful Forty Club.
