Mrs. J.M. Bloodworth, 601 N. Avenue F. an Olney resident since 1898 died following a three month illness.

Mrs. Bloodworth, 82, was a well known pioneer and the last surviving charter member of the Olney First Baptist Church.

Services were held in the First Baptist Church with Rev. W.H. Townsend of Austin, former pastor assisted by Rev. Erwin Reed, present pastor of the church.

Miss Laura Cate Cheeves married John Marion Bloodworth on 18 December 1890 at Willow Point, Wise County, Texas. She was 14 years old.

Mrs. Bloodworth and her husband who was an extensive land owner in Olney came to Olney from Willow Point in 1898.

Survived by two sons - Claude Cleborne Bloodworth of Fort Worth and Bert Cromwell Bloodworth of Abilene; one daughter - Mrs. Stewart Lamb of Olney; two brothers - Clyde Cheves of Mesa, Arizona and Melvin Cheves of Iowa Park; two sisters - Mrs. Joe Banks and Mrs. W.L. Miller of Olney; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
