HOLTON --- Virginia Lois Bryant, 72, Holton, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Bryant operated a day care in Holton for 30 years.
She was born April 9, 1927, in Powhattan, the daughter of William and Mary Eliza Moore Chesnut. She attended school in Falls City, Neb. She lived in the Hiawatha and Reserve areas before she moved to Holton in 1959.
Mrs. Bryant was a member of First Methodist Church in Holton, the Ruth Circle at the church and the Rebekah Lodge in Holton. She also was a member of the Auxiliary to Post No. 1367 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Holton.
She married William H. Bryant on Nov. 11, 1943, in Robinson. He died Sept. 10, 1981. Mrs. Bryant also was preceded in death by two sons, William Terrill Bryant, in 1948, and Teddy Lynn Bryant, in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Robert Bryant, Topeka; a daughter, Linda Mitchell, Circleville; four grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Holton and sent in care of Farmers State Bank in Holton or in Circleville.
