Mrs. Mattie Cheshier, 86, of Excelsior Springs, died Wednesday at the McAdams Nursing Home. She was born October 18, 1887 in Ray County, the daughter of Austin and Celia (Thompson) Teegarden. She had lived in the Ray and Clay counties area her lifetime.
She was a member of the Flack Memorial Christian Union Church.
She was a member of the former Rebekah Lodge at Rayville.
Her husband, James Roy Cheshier, died May 18, 1961.
One brother also preceded her in death.
She leaves one sister, Mrs. Roscoe Harris of Excelsior Springs, MO; and one niece, Mrs. Frank Stein of Excelsior Springs, MO.
The family will receive friends tonight at the Prichard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at the church; burial in Old Union Cemetery, rural Lawson.
