Mr. Chennault was a member of the Sevier United Methodist Church in Ferriday. He was retired from Chevron Oil Company. For the past 25 years, he had been the superintendent of the Lake St. John Water District. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gen. Claire Lee Chennault and Nell Thompson Chennault; one sister, Peggy Lee; and four brothers, David Chennault, Jack Chennault, Max Chennault and Charles Chennault.

He was survived by his wife, Ruth Harper Chennault of Ferriday; one daughter, Kathleen Winston of Farmville, VA; one son, Ken Chennault of Vicksburg, MS; one sister, Rosemary Chennault Simrall of West Monroe; one brother, Pat Chennault of Ferriday; and 2 granddaughters.
