Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Earl W. Chatterley, 73, returned to his Heavenly Father, February 23, 1993. He died in Bountiful, Utah after a valiant struggle.

He was born August 3, 1919 in Cedar City, Utah to John Morton and Ellen Lunt Chatterley. He married his eternal sweetheart, Gwen Thompson on July 6, 1943 in Cedar City Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized May 17, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.

They were blessed with four daughters who he loved and adored.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees for two and a half-years during World War II. He worked as an architectural draftsman for Otto Buehner Company for 35 years where his greatest joy and accomplishment was working on many of the LDS Temples.

He was a faithful LDS church member where he served in various positions.

He was a gentle, loving person to all. He always thought of others first. His kind and loving nature was a blessing to all.

He will be sorely missed.

Survived by his beloved wife, Gwen; daughters, Sharon Hatch (Robert); Kristine Bowler (Phillip); Janice Francom (Mark); Kathy Carlson (Larry); 9 grandsons, two of whom are currently serving LDS missions and five granddaughters; brother, Jay Chatterley; sister, Fern Bauer.

Preceded in death by brothers, Cliff and Garth and sisters, Violet, Inez, Anita and Noreen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 12 noon at the Bountiful 14th Ward, 600 East 1500 South. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday at the church 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
