Roy Lee Chatham, MSGT, USAF, retired, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Covenant Hospice at Bay Medical. Roy was born in Franklin County, GA, and lived in Bay County for over 50 years. He retired as a MGST after 24 years in the US Air Force, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of the Parker Lodge # 142, F & AM, and a member of the Parker United Methodist Church. Roy enjoyed gardening, and camping on his property at Mossy Pond. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathrean D. Chatham and a grandson, Joshua Chatham.

Survivors include his children, Cheryl Stanley (Rodney) of Lynn Haven, Wanda Stailey (Allen) of Lynn Haven, Terry Chatham (Teresa) of Parker, Robin Chatham (Kim) of North Ogden, UT, Shane Chatham of Fountain and Kevin Chatham (Denita) of Springfield; a sister, Doris Chatham; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Gray and Rev. Don L. Gray officiating. Interment with full military honors offered by the US Air Force will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 15, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family wishes to thank his extended family and Pond Buddies for their love and support. Special thanks also go out to Dr. Amir Manzoor and his staff for their loving care of Roy and Kathy throughout the years.
