James Lawrence “Jim” Chassé, 61, a long-time beloved resident of Sierra Vista, Arizona, peacefully passed into eternal life in Tucson, Arizona, on August 21, 2016, after an ongoing struggle with several health issues.

Jim was predeceased by his cherished son, Sebastien James Joseph Chassé; parents, Ernie and Geraldine Chassé; and stepbrothers, Gilman and Guy.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Chassé) Fries & husband Stuart; siblings, David & wife Tricia, Rachelle & husband Bob DeFarges, Andrew & wife Dawn, Peter and wife Tammy, and Paul; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Hailey Fries; extended family, Elise Schellhase and husband Louis, Jondalynn & Jerika, Jody Lehman, John, Catherine Thistle & husband Peter, Guy & wife Donna, Rebecca, Andre, and countless more precious family members and longtime friends.

Jim was born on January 7, 1955, in Madawaska, Maine, to Ernie and Geraldine Chassé and graduated from Madawaska High School in 1973. After many adventures traveling around the U.S., Jim, an entrepreneur, put down roots and started Hereford Sanitation, where he served the Sierra Vista community for many years. Then later in life he opened Alert First Fire Equipment, Inc. which also served the Sierra Vista Community for over 20 years.

A celebration of life and reception will be held on Saturday, September 10, at 11:00 a.m. in the Knights of Columbus Hall in Sierra Vista.

Jim was an avid Second Amendment rights supporter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the National Rifle Association Foundation by calling 877-NRA-GIVE.
