She was the daughter of Sibel R. Barnum & David H. Chase. She attended Cooperstown schools and won many awards, graduating in 1881. She married Benjamin Franklin Murdock Jr.on June 20, 1883. Mother of Prof. Carleton Chase Murdock. Sister of Lucy, Belinda, Charles & L.A. Chase. She was an active member of the Baptist church and the Otsego Chapter of the D.A.R.
She suffered ill health for three years before her death, culminating in a pair of brain surgeries from which she was unable to recover. She passed away at home.
