Harold Bell Chaplin Born April 6, 1914 in Pomona, CA and welcomed home December 27, 2008 at age 94, the last surviving of the 10 children born to William and Nora Chaplin. He was a World War II veteran, played the saxophone and clarinet with the United State Army 3rd division show company band at the Presidio of SF and retired from the US Postal Service. Preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy and daughter, Judith; he is survived by his wife, Mayben; step-daughter Penny Blumenthal (Jerry) and many nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to Armando Padan, Harold's caregiver, and to Vitas Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at Lakeside Presbyterian Church, corner of 19th Avenue and Eucalyptus, on January 24, 2009 at 11am. In lieu of flowers Harold requested donations to the Lakeside Presbyterian Church Music Program. Checks should be made to Lakeside Presbyterian Church, marked in memory of Harold Chaplin and mailed to the Church at 201 Eucalyptus Drive, San Francisco, CA 94132.
