Sherryl Elizabeth Grinager-Chapel, 58, of Iliff, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, in Iliff from complications of multiple sclerosis. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.
She was born as a twin in Lynwood, Calif., to Gordia and Torstein Grinager on Nov. 17, 1952.

She met Steven Chapel in Boulder, where they were friends for a long period of time, then were married Feb. 4, 1988. Steven then adopted Sherryl's daughter, Becky Neil-Chapel.

Later in their life they decided to move to Iliff, and planned to remodel an older farm house.

Her passions in life were to raise Great Pyrenees dogs, take photos and write books. Many of her books were published and won awards.

Mrs. Chapel is survived by her husband, Steven Chapel; daughter, Becky Jolly; son, Robert Neil and wife Amy; Grandchildren are Kaitlyn Elizabeth Jolly, Megan Elizabeth Neil, and Xander Dixon Neil; her twin sister, Nancy Grinager-Rice; sister, Becky Burks-Lord; sister, Kathy Grinager-Scheelk; brother, Mike Hannah; sisters-in-law, Linda Whitte and husband Gary, Peggy Blake and husband Roger; and nieces, Kristi Jeager and husband Dan, and Karrie Walker and husband Colby.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Leslie Burks-Truax; father, Torstein Grainger; and mother, Gordia Grainger.
