Grace L. Allmond, 95, passed away peacefully at her residence, Colonial Courtyard, Saturday afternoon.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late James W. and Ida Mae (Antis) Chambers. She married Ermine C. Allmond on Jan. 12, 1938. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Surviving are a son, William Allmond and wife, Ilene, in Idaho; a daughter, Debbie Kielczynski and husband, Cas, of Altoona; a brother, Ronald Chambers of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind granddaughters: Dana Vanormer (Jerry), Tracy and Michele; and grandsons: Robbie (Lisa) and Barry (Anita). She also leaves behind a namesake princess, Olivia Grace, namesake to her and daughter of Robert and Margaret McMinn of Altoona.

She was preceded in death by a son, Barry Allmond, and a granddaughter, Tammy Allmond.

Grace retired in Port Washington, N.Y., after many years as a teacher's aide.

She was a lifelong member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, now Juniata United Methodist.

She enjoyed crocheting and cooking meals for her family and especially loved her church family and singing in the choir since she was a young girl. She taught Sunday school in her younger years, and was past president of the women's society.

She enjoyed her Colonial Courtyard family and her Hospice group as well. They gave her much love.

Friends will be received from 3 until the 6 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., (www.maukandyates.com), with Brent Salsgiver officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church of your choice.
