Eileen Bond, 84, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Bloomington Hospital. She was a resident of Ellettsville.
She was born July 1, 1917, in Bicknell. Her parents were Levi and Roxie (Gardner) Chambers. She married William L. Bond. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Mesmer of Omaha, Neb., and Anita Jacks of Indianapolis; four sons, William L. Bond Jr. of Havlok, N.C., Michael L. Bond of Evansville, Robin L. Bond of Boonville, Mo., and Ralph E. Bond of Bloomington; two sisters, Ethel Byrer and Ramona McClure, both of Bicknell; four brothers, Joe Chambers of Jonesboro, Ark., Alan Chambers of Pocahontas, Ark., Max Chambers of Martinez, Ga., and Rex Chambers of Vincennes; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis B. Bond; three sisters; a brother; and three grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and an Avon representative for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Ellettsville First Baptist Church. She was a member of and past noble grand for the Lizzie Rebekah Lodge.
Brother Michael L. Bond will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellettsville.
