Funeral for Debra Lynne Chambers, 43, Newcastle, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 1996, in the Newcastle First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Elmore officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Minco under the direction of Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
She died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996 unexpectedly. She was born Feb. 13, 1953 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Don and Pat Weatherford.
She grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1971 and from Oklahoma University in 1975 with a teacher's certificate for special children.
She married Stanley Chambers April 17, 1973, on her grandmother's and father-in-laws birthday. Her family moved to California in 1975 where they lived until 1983 when they move back to Newcastle.
For the past 10 years, she had been employed by the Newcastle Police Department. She was the head dispatcher for the police department, the fire department and ambulance and rescue squad.
She had worked part time as a dispatcher for the Moore and Blanchard Police Departments and was also a certified jailer.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newcastle.
Debra had coached her daughter's softball team
She was preceded in death by her father Don Weatherford.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley of the home in Newcastle; one daughter, Kreta Chambers of the home; two sons, Casey and Jake Chambers of the home; her mother, Pat Weatherford; her grandmother, Mattie Simer of Newcastle; two sisters, Nancy Weatherford of Newcastle and Donna Hunt of Tecumseh.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Files, Johnny Files Sr., Bill Canary, Finis Canary, Tom Shephard, Jeff Stanford.
Honorary bearers will be the Newcastle Police and fire Department.
Memorials may be made to the D.A.R.E. may be made to the Newcastle Police Department.
