She was born July 31, 1918 in Kenton, Ohio to Grover C. and Celesta (Willeke) Chamberlin who preceded her in death. In 1936, she was a graduate of Kenton High School. Carolyn married Albert T. Arnett at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Kenton, Ohio, April 17, 1938 and was happily married for 63 years. Albert passed April 4, 2002.
She worked as a secretary at Metropolitan Bank of Lima prior to being a stay-at-home mother. Years later she returned to work as the Motherhood Maturity Manager. She was an active and longtime member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church of Lima, singing in the choir, holding multiple offices in Women's Guild, Ladies Aid Society and teaching Sunday school to 7th and 8th graders for 26 years. Carolyn was an avid bridge player and was a member of numerous bridge clubs. She and her husband hosted many parties and family dinners. They enjoyed dancing and golfing. Carolyn enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, flower arranging, cross word puzzles and her beloved grandchildren. She will be remembered for her laughter, sweet tooth, love for the sky and clouds and how she touched so many lives in her Christian walk through life.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor G. (Harold) Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Alicia (John) Moor, grandchildren, Jamie Moor of Montgomery, Michigan, Joseph (Nicole) Moor of Lima and a great granddaughter, Mariyah. Siblings surviving are a brother, Grover H. (Juanita) Chamberlin of Washington DC, sisters, Wilda Brinkman and Linda Hammond of Columbus and Connie (Bill) Glancy of Lima.
Visitation will be at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum on Tuesday from 2:00-6:00pm under the direction of Day-Manofsky Funeral Service, Gahanna, OH.
