A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Isabel Chabert Bruce, 76, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Interment will be in the church mausoleum.
She was the mother of Raymond Bruce, Deanna Curole, Joylene Gautreaux and Mae Helen Merrifield; sister of Harris, Walter and Leroy Chabert and Dorine Cheramie. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Bruce; parents, Wallace and Emelie Guidry Chabert; three brothers, Alidor, Wallace Jr. and Luke Chabert; and two sisters, Alice Chabert and Noeda Plaisance.
