AGE: 88 • Wilmington

James J. Centini, 88, of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017.

Mr. Centini was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on July 3, 1929, son of the late Raffaele and Antoinette (Mazzochichi) Centini. A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served our country during the Korean War, having been stationed in Germany. Mr. Centini was a master chef with the Hotel DuPont for 23 years, as well as the owner of Centini's Gourmet to Go which was located in Independence Mall. He was an avid golfer, a former member of St. Ann Parish, a current member of St. John the Beloved Parish, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12374 at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.

Mr. Centini will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Consiglia (Nicastro) Centini. He is also survived by his sister, Erma Wysocki; his sisters-in-law, Viola Centini and Helen Centini; many nieces, nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Camillo and John; his sisters, Bertha Gross, Clara Mascelli, Faye Frankelli and Josephine Augustine.

Special thanks are extended to the staff at Rockland Place and Shipley Manor for the care and compassion given to Mr. Centini.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Thursday, July 20 from 9:30-10:15AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM.

Entombment will be held in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville, PA on Friday, July 21 at 9:30AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Centini may be made to Knights of Columbus and Columbiettes #12374 c/o St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 301 N.
