He was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Seattle Wash. He was the son of Richard B. Caywood and Elizabeth Zumwalt Caywood. He married Mary Ana Zautz in Boise, Idaho, on May 15, 1943. He then entered the Army in June of 1943 and was discharged on April 2, 1946. He also served in the Idaho National Guard. After 53 years of marriage, his wife passed away on May 2, 1996. He then married Helen Fincher on Aug. 20, 1997; they were married for 14 years.
He worked most of his life in the propane gas industry as a mechanic, a service manager and a route driver in Boise, Nampa, Rigby, Caldwell and Burley. He retired in 1982. He loved fishing, camping and hunting with friends Herb and Maxine Christensen, Will and Loraine Sellman, and Bob and Carol Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nellie; and his great-grandson, Beru. He is survived by his children, Dennis (Bonnie) of Montepelier, Judy Adams of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jan Jensen of Idaho Falls and Bob (Frida) of Heyburn. He had three stepchildren, Mark (Sheryl) Fincher of Seattle, Wash., Mike (Kathie) Fincher of Seattle, Wash., and Kathy (Jim) Fredrickson of Seward, Alaska; 20 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
No memorial service will be held per his request.
