Helen Herring Cavenaugh, 87, of Castle Hayne, North Carolina, went peacefully to her heavenly home on February 8, 2010. She was retired from Singer Company and Hertz Rental. She was preceded in death by her husband James Clifton Cavenaugh, Sr. and son Glynn Cavenaugh. She is survived by two sons; Jimmy Cavenaugh and wife Pat of North Augusta, SC, David Cavenaugh and wife Rachel of Rocky Point, NC, and a daughter; Elaine Peterson and husband David of Riegewood, NC. She was also blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers for the service are; Glynn Cavenaugh, Paul Cavenaugh, Jeremy Cavenaugh, Bruce Cavenaugh, Tommy Cavenaugh and Roy Jenkins. Helen will always be remembered by her warm and friendly ways. She never met a stranger.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Coble Ward-Smith Oleander Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, February 12, 2010, also at Coble Ward-Smith Oleander Chapel, with interment to follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
