Fred Casias, age 87, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2005.
Fred is survived by his sisters, Lena Casias, Gerri Gurule and Laura Pacheco, as well as two step-daughters.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Yetta Casias.
Fred was born on Februay 28, 1918 on a cattle ranch in Cimarron, NM to Fred and Tillie Casias.
After enlisting in the United States Army during World War II, Fred was injured while jumping into a foxhole and soon after he was honorably discharged because of his injuries. Fred worked as an electrician and commuted to Los Alamos for many years up until his retirement. Fred loved the outdoors, whether it was his rose garden or fishing and camping. Fred also enjoyed his red chile with posole and could always be found cooking up a batch for his friends and family. But his true love was his wife, Yetta and together they loved the Lord. Now Fred has joined them both and their families will miss them deeply. Rest in peace. Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 10:00 a.m French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Friends may visit French Mortuary one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Network Efforts by Women, Inc. (ANEW), PO Box 9244, Albuquerque, NM 87119.
