Mr. Casey died at the home of his brother, Mr. W. P. Casey, in this city last Monday, Sept. 12, at 5 o'clock. The deceased was taken with typhoid fever three or four weeks prior to his death and was recovering from that disease when his heart became involved, resulting fatally. Mr. Casey was about 37 or 38 years of age. He was employed as engineer at the factory of the Union City Ice & Coal Co., a very quiet, unobtrusive gentleman, an efficient mechanic, attentive and prompt in his work, thoroughly reliable and honorable in every way and a valued employee. It is said that during the six or seven years at the ice factory he was never known to be tardy at work, but almost invariably a few minutes ahead of time.
The remains were taken to Bells, Tennessee, accompanied by his brother, Mr. W. P. Casey, and interred in the family burying ground on the premises of his mother, Mrs. T. J. Casey. Father of deceased died 2 years and 4 days before Mr. Casey's death.
