She is my grandmother. I spent a lot of time with her. She always seemed happy, I remember her smiling all the time. She was a great cook, which is something I did not inherit from her even after spending time with her in the kitchen. During the summers I would spend time staying with her and grandpa. Their were girls my age living across the street from them. Her son, Frank, owned Casey's super market in Brooklyn Center on the corner of 57th and Logan. Grandma and I would count the money every night. I got to count the change and I believe that helped me with my math, as I was very young at the time.
One of my favorite memories is centered around her cooking. As a child, when I was sick, she would bake 'Bread Pudding'. She made the best Bread Pudding, I could never top her at that either.
I remember how beautiful she looked on the day I got married. She was dressed in a sky blue dress with a blue hat to match.
She worked hard her whole life. She did love the house in Brooklyn Center. Everything was new and modern. I use Tide laundry soap to this day. I remember helping her with laundry and she said there was nothing better.
Grandma, I love you and I still miss you.
