THE MUNCIE STAR, Tuesday, October 8, 1985

Robert W. Cartwright, 42, 2805 W. 26th, owner of Cartwright's Locksmith, died Sunday afternoon in Ball Hospital, apparently as the result of a heart attack. A lifelong resident of Muncie, he attended Stevenson and Eugene Field elementary schools, Wilson Junion High and graduated from Central High School in 1962.

Mr. Cartwright had been owner of Cartwright's Locksmith the past five years, prior to which he had worked for Westinghouse Corporation for 15 years and for Creviston Steel for two years.

He was a member of East 16th Street eparate Baptist Church, a former member of Blountsville Christian Church and Madison Street United Methodist Church, was active in local Boy Scout programs and had been an instructor for the American Red Cross.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Wolfe Cartwright; four children, Robert L., a sophomore at Purdue University, Daniel A. and Connie Cartwright, both at home, and Thomas Childers, whose guardian he was; his mother, Mrs. Robert A. (Elizabeth) Cartwright, Muncie; three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Peggy) Thornhill, Mrs. Leo (Elizabeth) Keppers and Mrs. Davon (Eleanorre) Holdred; his father-and mother-in-law, Ira and Bernice Wolfe, Farmland; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in East 16th Street Separate Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday or one-half hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
